Suspended ceilings (also called drop ceilings or T-bar ceilings) consist of a metal grid framework hung from the structure above, with ceiling tiles or panels placed into the grid. This creates a finished ceiling plane while maintaining easy access to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in the plenum space above.
